The president was on his way to the beach with friends when asked about the rising death toll in Hawaii.

Earlier, when out biking with wife Jill, he was asked if he visit the state.

Biden vacationed on Rehoboth Beach for a week earlier this month. He heads to Nevada for his second vacation on Friday after hosting a summit at Camp David with the leaders of Japan and South Korea.

The freshwater Lake Tahoe area is known for its beach, ski resorts and state parks. In the summer it’s known for hiking, fishing, boating and golfing. There is also plenty of places to go shopping. According to the week ahead guidance released from the White House on Monday morning, the president is slated to arrive in Lake Tahoe on Friday, August 18 where he will stick around until the following Thursday.
The president is expected to depart Camp David on Friday before heading to the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe.
The White House hasn’t said whether the trip is for business or personal. No major events are scheduled in the Lake Tahoe Basin as of Monday morning.
