The management of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has debunked reports of being hacked and threatened by Anonymous.
According to past events, Anonymous, is a group of cyber hackers, who intervene for citizens of any country going through any of oppression. They hack the Government’s owned website and threaten to do more terrible things if the government fails to free its citizens from oppression.
The handler of CBN’s social media accounts have released a public statement, which states that the organisation’s website was hacked.
The statement reads:
“CBN website Not Hacked
Contrary to claims in the social media alleging that the website of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) (www.cbn.gov.ng) has been breached by malicious persons, we wish to state categorically that our website is secured.
We wish to assure the Nigerian public and indeed all our other stakeholders that the CBN website is adequately protected and that there’s no cause for alarm.
We also wish to advise members of the online community to desist from peddling false news aimed at undermining the integrity of the Central Bank of Nigeria, which is our collective asset.
