CAUSE OF DEATH: Millwall FC owner, John Berylson, killed in tragic accident.




Berylson’s educational journey was marked by his pursuit of knowledge and excellence. He attended Harvard Business School, where he earned an M.B.A. Additionally, he obtained an A.B. degree from Brown University and an M.S. from New York University, further enriching his intellectual foundation.


Beyond his professional endeavors, Berylson was known for his philanthropic work and dedication to social causes. He and his wife, Amy, channeled their philanthropy through the Amy Smith and John G. Berylson Foundation, which supported education and made a positive difference in the lives of many individuals. In Boston, they contributed to various initiatives through the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation, further exemplifying their commitment to improving their community.


Millwall owner John Berylson has died and the 70-year-old was involved in what the club called a “tragic accident” on Tuesday morning.


The Lions posted a message on their official Twitter account this evening.


“It is with a broken heart and deep regret that we announce the passing of our beloved owner and chairman John Berilson.


“John, who turned 70 last month, died on Tuesday morning in a tragic accident and the thoughts of everyone at the club are with his wife Amy and three children – Jennifer, James and Elizabeth – and the rest of the Berilson family.


“John’s sudden and tragic death will undoubtedly affect all those who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a truly great man, incredibly devoted to his family and a man of extraordinary generosity, warmth and kindness
