Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Miguel Barbosa, Gobernador de Puebla, has died of Infarto cerebral at Hospital Angeles Pedregal.




The president began his administration on August 1, 2019, after special elections after the death of Governor Martha Érika in a helicopter accident, and would end his term in December 2024.


Luis Miguel Gerónimo Barbosa Huerta , full name of the governor of Puebla, was born on September 30, 1959 in Zinacatepec, in the Tehuacán area, Puebla.


Barbosa has a degree in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) , and from a young age he excelled in politics.


In 1982 he founded the Law Firm Barbosa Huerta y Asociados, in Tehuacán, Puebla, of which he was a part until 2000.


In 1994 he entered political life as an active member of the PRD, where he served as national political adviser in 1998.


In the PRD he held various positions until 2017, when he resigned from the party and joined Morena. The governor of Puebla had suffered from diabetes for several years, which caused various health complications and even the amputation of his right foot in 2014.


After his amputation, Barbosa acknowledged that the complications that led to the loss of his foot stemmed from his denial of the disease and from not taking care of himself despite having been diagnosed.


An infection in his foot led to sepsis, the amputation of his foot and a gallbladder operation.


Despite maintaining the necessary care, Barbosa’s health was determined by diabetes that caused him ophthalmic conditions, such as glaucoma.


The governor of Puebla, Miguel Barbosa, passed away this Tuesday, at the age of 63.


President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed the death on his Twitter account.


I am very sorry for the death of my colleague Miguel Barbosa Huerta, governor of the state of Puebla.


I just spoke with his wife Rosario, I expressed my sadness and I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and his people.


Earlier, the Puebla government confirmed that Barbosa was receiving medical attention at a hospital.


The first report said that he was under medical care, but “stable and without complications.”


Barbosa, a member of Morena, had problems with hypertension and diabetes.


A leg was amputated in December 2013, when he was serving as a senator of the Republic.


 


Barbosa Huerta became an active member of the Party of the Democratic Revolution in 1994.


He became one of the leading figures in the Aztec sun, where he held local and National Council positions.


He was president of the Board of Directors of the Senate of the Republic and operator of the Pact for Mexico, which created a common legislative agenda with the PRI and PAN.



It was in the middle of negotiating the legislative agenda when he had a health problem for which his foot had to be amputated.


He spoke openly about his condition and acknowledged that he did not take care of his health.


 



In an interview with El Universal he said:


I am Miguel Barbosa. I lost a leg, but I am whole and for the rest of my life I will be in rehabilitation, and I want to make the future wonderful, and I know that I have a long way to go to achieve it, but I have the will.


He resigned from the PRD in 2017 to join the National Regeneration Movement.


In June 2019wonthe elections for governor of Puebla, called in advance due to the death of the governorMartha Erika Alonsoand her husband, Rafael Moreno Valle.


Politically, Barbosa supported the administration of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. He copied the scheme of continuous press conferences and called for a mirror march in support of the president on December 4.
