Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Jeffrey Zikhali killed by hijackers in hijacking incident at Ndabayakhe in the Empangeni area in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
FORMER SABC sports anchor and government communicator Jeffrey Zikhali was gunned down in a suspected hijacking incident on Friday night, 1 December.
Zikhali, who was with SABC for some time, was driving around Ndabayakhe in Empangeni, north of KZN, heading to his ancestral home in Dlangezwa, not far from Empangeni when he met his death.
His car is still missing, and it’s alleged that the hijackers drove away with his car.
The KZN MEC for Community Safety Sipho Hlomuka has revealed that Empangeni cops have begun their manhunt to find the perpetrators who drove away with Zikhali’s vehicle.
He added that law enforcement is working on profiling and identifying crime hot spot areas where police visibility will be increased to ensure the safety of the people of the province.
He said police have also intensified operations to recover illegal firearms and ammunition from criminals.
