Cecil ‘Skelly’ Spence, leading founder of world’s renowned reggae group Israel Vibration has died, aged 69, family confirms.
The singer succumbed to lung cancer at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
A statement by the group’s management says “Send love to all my fans” was among his last words before he peacefully rested.
“In the last few months he was doing therapy on his right hand and shoulder due to arthritis. Last week he was not feeling well and went to the hospital in New York where he just discovered he had an aggressive cancer with no possibility of treatment.
He asked to send his love to all his fans. That was one of his last words. Please say a prayer to him”, reads part of the statement.
His death comes 2 years after the passing on of Albert “Apple Gabriel” Craig, a co-founder of Israel Vibration, who died in March 2020.
The group has now one member left, Lascelle “Wiss” Bulgin.
