Alipio Vera has passed away at 77.
The founder of the “Jappening Con Já”, Eduardo Ravani, has passed away at 81.
This Monday morning, the death of national journalist Alipio Vera Guerrero , a communications professional who won the National Journalism Award in 2013 and was part of the press department of Channel 13 for more than two decades, was confirmed.
Regarding his professional career, Alipiobegan in journalism in 1969when he started working at Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), where he covered the accident of flight 571 of the Uruguayan Air Force in the Andes Mountains.
He left the state channel for a brief period between 1979 and 1981, to direct the newspaper El Austral de Temuco. On his return to TVN, he was one of the founders of the investigative program ‘Special Report’ in June 1984, where he was a war correspondent in conflicts such as the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua, the civil war in El Salvador, the Rwandan genocide, the attempted coup in the Soviet Union and the wars in the Middle East.
In 1994 he participated in the book Vendedores de sol, by Alejandro Cabrera. In September 1995, she left TVN for good to join the Press Department of Channel 13 as a journalist .
On our channel, he stood out for his notes in the ‘Reports’ section of Teletrece, where he showed the cultural heritage of Chile. In March 2015 Alipio joined Mega, where he made his debut with the documentary ‘A orillas del rÃo’. Later he participated in the program ‘Historias que nos reunen’ and also hosted the program ‘Crónicas de la Patagonia’, which was part of prime culture on Saturdays on Channel 13.
