Caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri has declared November 18 and 19 as public holidays, to encourage Malaysians to vote on polling day.
He says that 30 highway concessionaires have also agreed to go toll free during those two days.
Caretaker Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the government will study the proposal to declare a special public holiday on Nov 18.
This is so voters can return to their hometowns in time to cast their ballots the following day.
In addition, Ismail Sabri said that November’s salary for civil servants will be paid on Nov 17, while pensions will be paid on Nov 14.
