Two men vandalized Young Dolph’s memorial in Memphis with paint.
On July 21, two vandals trashed the memorial in the wee hours of the morning. Memphis artist Cameron Hill started working on the project four months ago at King Of Discounts Mini Mart in South Memphis. Earlier in the week, Hill decided to take a break from painting after receiving hate messages from people in the city. Hill wanted to have it completed by Dolph’s 37th birthday on July 27, but now it has been delayed.
“Young Dolph meant everything to me,” Hill said. “I’m 26 years old, so I grew up looking at and watching Young Dolph.”
Hill says he believes he knows who ruined the painting, but he won’t press charges. It’s just sad that someone would do this to a mural remembering someone who helped the community as much as Dolph.
