Nollywood actor and comedian, Olanrewaju James, Popularly known as, Baba Ijesha, has been granted bail based on case of health issue. Recall that yesterday, his lawyer revealed he was battling with some health issues.
For over three weeks plus now, Baba Ijesha had been detained at the State CID, Panti, in Lagos, for molesting a 14-year-old girl, who was left in the custody of comedienne Adekola Adekanya, popularly called ‘Princess.’
The release of Baba Ijesha on Monday afternoon came as a result of magistrates going around police stations across Lagos State, listening to cases and giving hearing to those arrested. He was granted N500K bail.
A lawyer told FIJ that Baba Ijesha’s release on health grounds sounded more like an easy way out. The case had been forwarded by the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
