Good news for University students as the Federal Government of Nigeria begins payment of salaries after 10-month strike. Recall that members of ASUU have been having several meetings with the FG over unpaid salaries.
In a tweet by the official account of ASUU, it revealed that the Federal Government has begun payment of salaries. This means that the strike will be suspended anytime soon as Federal Government continues to pay the withheld salaries.

A lecturer at Usmanu Danfodiyo University has revealed that the 10-month old strike will be suspended conditionally. More details about this part will be revealed soon.

The Federal Government had during the November 27 meeting with the union pledged N40bn as the Earned Allowance and N30bn for the revitalisation of the university system bringing the total payment to N70bn.
It also promised to pay the arrears of salaries to the lecturers.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, says the Academic Activities in Nigeria Universities will resume January.
