The wife of former Springbok rugby coach Peter de Villiers has reportedly drowned in a pool in Gqeberha on Monday. (Read More Here).
“The deceased is from Paarl, but was visiting family in Gqeberha. She was found in the pool by a family member. No foul play is suspected.
“The circumstances surrounding the drowning is under investigation,” police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said.
Political party GOOD, who elected De Villiers as a councillor last year, extended condolences to the family in a Facebook post.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. May strength, peace, love surround you as you and your family go through this difficult time.”
De Villiers also lost his daughter, Odille Monk, 28, to cancer in December 2019.
