Lionel Messi’s bodyguard, Yassine Chueko, went viral on social media this week.
Many fans spotted Chueko sprinting down the touchline after Inter Miami captain Messi had assisted a 97th-minute equalizer against FC Cincinnati in Wednesday’s U.S. Open semi-final.
But he was not trying to join Messi and his teammates in their goal celebration.
The bodyguard, Chueko, went viral this week when he was captured on camera pacing on the touchlines as Messi’s Inter Miami faced Cincinnati in the US Open Cup semifinals.
Chueko, a former US Navy SEAL, is said to have been hired by David Beckham to guard Messi everywhere he goes.
He served in Iraq and Afghanistan and also has a background in boxing, taekwondo and mixed martial arts (MMA).
Apparently an entire team of Miami Police isn’t enough protection. If you’re a fan thinking about jumping the fence to try and shake Messi’s hand, even if you can evade the cops, you then have the final boss to deal with.
This final boss is not just a regular body guard either. His is Yassine Chueko (a name only a bodyguard or MMA fighter can have), and is an expert in all types of fighting. When he’s not chasing the best player in the history of soccer up and down the pitch, he spends his free time being jacked and beating the shit out of people.
