An auto crash happened in the early hours on Friday in Benin, Edo state. The accident occurred along Benin-Lagos highway near University of Benin teaching hospital(UBTH).
The truck carrying diesel veered off the road and fell while the truck driver was trying to avoid a car-driver who went against traffic rules. The truck got burnt and the driver,who was under the truck got burnt beyond recognition. The driver’s assistance escaped.
The accident also affected a car-dealer’s park where about 8 imported used cars were parked to be sold off. Fire from the incident destroyed all the imported cars. The fire was later put off by the UBTH firefighters.
Deputy governor of Edo state,Philips Shaibu was also presented. He said, this would have been avoided if people didn’t go against traffic rules.
