Bayo Onanuga, the media director of the APC presidential campaign council, has tackled Charly Boy, the singer, for allegedly inciting Nigerian youths
On Saturday, Charly Boy addressed the ongoing riots in France over the killing of a teenager by a police officer.
Naël, a 17-year-old boy, was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop in Nanterre, a French town, on June 27.
The development has sparked widespread unrest across major cities in the country, with many people hitting the streets to protest the teenager’s death. The musician took to social media to urge Nigerian youths to take a cue from the France riots and “fight the system letting them down”.
But reacting via his Twitter page, Onanuga described the musician’s post as “highly irresponsible”.
The renowned journalist also urged the security operatives in the country to “call him to order immediately”. “From here on, we must be very focussed and take these dates very seriously. If the judiciary fails to dispense justice, we must take our destiny in our hands. None but ourselves can save ourselves.
“The Last hope of the common man is the Common Man”, he said.
But responding to his message, Bayo Onanuga described Charly Boy as a highly irresponsible man at 73 and imputed that the musician is calling on Nigerian youths to burn down the criminal enterprise, called Nigeria.
“ The security agencies should call this old man to order immediately”, he said.
Early Charly Boy had described INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu as the number one enemy of Nigeria.
According to him, the INEC Chairman collected over N300 billion of the 2023 general election but ended up selling the mandate to Tinubu.
