Bayern Munich have sacked both Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic.

Apparently, Kahn is the one who should be most worried about losing his job. Citing information “from the very top” at the Bavarian club, reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that Salihamidzic still enjoys the backing of the club – unlike Kahn.

However, the 53-year-old Kahn’s departure has not yet been decided and his future is still up in the air.

Speaking after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Hertha BSC, the former goalkeeper said he firmly believes he will stay on beyond the summer.

Asked by Sky Germany if he would still be chairman next season, he laughed and said:

“Of course I’ll still be here.”

Club president Herbert Hainer, however, declined to make a clear commitment. “Believe me, we’re all concentrating on the sporting side of things right now. Otherwise, we’ll analyze and discuss the overall situation. We’re discussing this internally, calmly and very cautiously, as is customary at FC Bayern,” he said.

This, however, is not going to help Hasan Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn. Both have reportedly been sacked, according to Maximillian Koch of AZ. Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge are back in the driver’s seats. The new era of FC Bayern is looking a lot like the old one.

You could see Brazzo’s expression change at half time, he may have already known by then. If this report is true, then he leaves with a relatively mixed record as sporting director. The treble was won with many of his signings and he was personally responsible for bringing in Jamal Musiala from Chelsea FC, who scored the Bundesliga winning goal this season. His tenure will be judged in posterity.
