BATANG KALI: Tracker dog Blake, from the K9 unit, passed out from exhaustion.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the English springer spaniel keeled over after a few consecutive days of the search.

However, Bomba assures that Blake has been well-rested.

“The dogs needed badly to rest and recuperate though they were not injured.”

The department adds that they will rotate the dogs on duty from now on.

Bomba also reports that eleven tracking dogs were placed on standby at the scene to assist the mission but may request more if necessary.

It adds that six dogs belong to JBPM, four to the Royal Malaysian Police and one to the Army.
