When they say ‘watch what you say or write’, people will tell you there’s freedom of speech. A Nigerian doctor has just been denied an Australian VISA over the homophobic tweet she made 3 years ago.
Taking to his Twitter page, Dr. Penking, briefly narrated why his friend (name withheld) was denied visa at the Australian embassy. According to the Australian embassy, the tweet was “outlining the dangers of homosexuality and warning people against it.”
The Australian embassy termed her tweet as “Homophobic.” Narrating the story, he wrote:
“If you have Japa plans be mindful of what you tweet o. Today, they denied my doctor friend VISA to Australia for a scholarship she won for Master’s in Public Health because of a thread she made about homosexuality 3 years ago (August 23, 2012). They said she’s homophobic. Christ!

“The tweet was not even hateful. She was just outlining the dangers of homosexuality and warning people against it. They termed it Homophobia. She spent over 3 years working for this scholarship. Where will she even start from? Haah! Jesus Christ oo!”
