Arnold Schwarzenegger compares the January 6th Capitol attack to Kristallnacht attack on Jewish people.

“I know this because of my Nazi father,” he said. “Because ‘a lot of people in America today are being misled.”

His remarks were powerful:

When CNN anchor Chris Wallace played a portion of Schwarzenegger’s previous remarks, he asked him if he still stands by his original statement.

“Do you still think it’s fair to compare Kristallnacht, the Nazi attack on the Jews, to what happened on January 6th? Wallace asked.

The former Republican Governor replied: “Yes, absolutely.” He then claimed that the American people are being misled in the same manner his father, a former Nazi, was misled during World War II.

“And this is why I compared it to that. Because in Kristallnacht, I know with my father, who was part of the Nazi party, they were lied to. They were misled. And I think a lot of people in America today are being misled,” he said.

Kristallnacht, often referred to as the “Night of Broken Glass,” was a wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms which took place throughout Germany on November 9 and 10, 1938, that claimed the lives of nearly 100 Jews and where ordinary citizens torched, vandalized, and completely destroyed thousands of Jewish homes, schools, synagogues, businesses, hospitals and cemeteries.

The Capitol riots on January 6th, resulted in $1.5 million worth of damage to the U.S. Capitol building, according to the Department of Justice.
