Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Kenyan wanted businesswoman, Mary Wambui Mungai and her daughter, Purity Njoki, have been freed after being granted bail by the Anti Corruption Court today. (Read More Here).







Anti corruption Court granted the wanted Mary Wambui Mungai and her daughter, bail of Sh25 million each or a bond of Sh50 million and two sureties of Sh25 million.

The two are facing eight counts of knowingly and unlawfully omitting taxes due in the income tax returns submitted to the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes for the period between 2014 and 2016.


Recall that it was reported that on Wednesday, Mary Wambui Mungai and her her daughter, Purity Njoki, had escaped from Weston Hotel before the Kenya Police arrived. 





After running away, it was reported that Mary Wambui Mungai and her daughter, Purity, had surrendered to Milimani Law Courts in company of their lawyer, Nelson Havi. Mary Wambui Mungai and Purity Njoki are co-directors at Purma Holdings Limited. 


Releasing a statement, Kenya Revenue Authority says: “Upon searching the hotel premises, KRA officers and the police found personal belongings of the two including cash, bank cards and car keys; a clear indication that the two were residing at the hotel.”



Osoro Junior wrote:


“Court grants Mary Mungai and co-accused Sh25 million cash bail each, ordered to deposit their travelling documents including Zambia permit.


“She had earlier surrendered herself to the Milimani Law Courts in the company of her lawyer, Nelson Havi.”
