Tres Genco,22, pleaded guilty earlier this week to one count of attempt to commit a hate crime. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio, Genco identified as an “involuntary celibate” or an incel and participated in online forums that supported the “cause.” The incel community is predominately male and considers themselves unattractive to women.

Genco frequently used the website from July 2019 to March 2020, creating multiple online profiles and detailing in one post how he would spray some couples or single women with orange juice in a water gun. He also expressed feelings of slaughtering “women out of hatred, jealousy, and revenge,” referring to death as “the great equalizer.”
