An adult male panther weighing about 40kg died yesterday after being hit by a MPV at KM19, Jalan Seremban-Simpang Pertang.
Jelebu police say the driver of the MPV, was travelling with his family from Seremban to Kuala Klawang when the incident occurred at 2pm.
A panther suddenly came out from the right side of the road and the man was unable to avoid the animal.
“The panther managed to make its way to a nearby drain about 4m away and eventually died,” says Jelebu district police chief Maslan Udin.
