The address comes after the former Prime Minister pulled a no-show on protests he called for.


Only elected leaders from the Senate and the National Assembly have taken part in the charged protests. Running battles and arrests have been the order of the day in areas where the protests have been held across the country.


Nairobi and Kisumu have been the most affected.


Reports say that Raila has been meeting other Azimio party leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa and Martha Karua.


Before the protests began, Raila had called on Kenyan to awaken the spirit of fighting oppressive regimes as they have done in the past.

Addressing the presser at the parliamentary building, National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohamed termed the ongoing demonstrations as a rehearsal of a series of bigger similar mass actions in the coming days. “This was just the beginning. Today was just a rehearsal. The real one is coming,” Mohamed said on Monday, March 20. While saying Azimio la Umoja will not relent in its push for Ruto to address the concerns raised by the opposition, Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna accused the police of turning their peaceful demonstrations into a confrontation.
