After weeks of backlash for first making his inflammable George Floyd comments, then receiving additional backlash for failing to apologize, the artist formerly known as Kanye West is finally apologizing.
Ye was caught outside of his daughter North West’s basketball game the other day, and he told reporters that he feels he is being humbled by God; and he also says that by him “being burned to flesh,” it’s proof that he’s right. He then goes on to acknowledge how Black people are condemning him for not apologizing for his comments, and for questioning the Black Lives Matter movement as well.
Ye then continues to issue his apology. “When I questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt the Black people.. It hurt the Black people. So I want to apologize for hurting them. Right now, God has shown me, that by what Adidas is doing, and by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now. So, I thank you God for humbling me, and letting me know how it really felt.”
