During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “High School” musical star said he nearly died in the accident and called the plastic surgery rumors “funny.” “My mom told me. I don’t really read the internet, so, I don’t really give a f**k. It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good,” he further explained.

In 2013, Efron’s jaw shattered after he slipped and collided with a granite fountain after running around his house with socks on. In an interview with Men’s Health, he recalled that he lost consciousness, and when he woke up, his chin bone was hanging off of his face.The accident caused the actor to have his mouth wired shut in addition to sustaining a gash that required stitches.
