The news, initially reported by @bscott, was confirmed by Regina King in a statement to PEOPLE.
“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian,” King stated. “He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”

Details are scarce, but sources close to the situation exclusively tell love Bscott that Ian died from apparent suicide yesterday, a day after his 26th birthday.
