A woman from North Carolina dialed 911 and complained that pulled pork was “undercooked” when brought to her.
Because her pulled pork at Clyde Cooper’s BBQ restaurant was pink, the customer, Annie Cooke, decided to phone the Raleigh police. The owner of the establishment, Debbie Holt, said she found the incident amusing since she informed Cooke that smoked barbequed pork turns pink, but the customer insisted that her meal wasn’t cooked thoroughly enough. Cooke was allowed to switch to white chicken, but she fled the establishment and dialed 911 immediately.
“Every barbecue I’ve had is all the way done; you don’t see pink at all,” she explained. “I asked if they could cook it some more, that I’m not eating any pink barbecue. They said it’s supposed to be pink, but I’ve never had it that way,” Cooke explained to The News & Observer.
