A Texas teacher and her two assistants were charged with endangering a child due to an incident in April 2021.
Melody LaPointe,47, Tarah Tinney,33, and Augusta Costlow,27, were accused of putting a five-year-old male student with special needs in an isolation room at a Liberty Independent School District building. As reported by FOX 26 Houston, the three women allegedly deprived him of food which forced him to eat his feces and drink his urine.

Amid the accusations, Tinney and Costlow resigned but LaPointe worked for another school district. After the charges were filed, the school district placed LaPointe on leave. A district spokesman said they have contacted authorities regarding the incident and reported their actions to the State Board for Educator Certification.
