A Maryland restaurant apologized after receiving backlash for continuing operations when a female customer died in the women’s bathroom.
The incident occurred Wednesday night at Jasper’s in the town of Largo. Although police were called to the scene, they guarded the door so customers could use the men’s restroom, and the restaurant continued business as usual. First responders said the woman most likely died from a heart attack while using the bathroom. After another customer, Tori Monshae, posted about the woman’s death on Twitter, the restaurant faced backlash on social media
On Thursday, Jasper’s released a statement and apologized for their actions regarding the woman’s tragic passing. ‘On behalf of our ownership, management, and staff, we send the sincerest and most heartfelt support and condolences to the deceased’s family. We will be reaching out to the family to see if there is any way we can support them in this time of grief,’ the owners wrote.
