Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Rented New Yorkers yelled at AOC and Jerry Nadler at NYC migrant crisis news conference.
“The first is that there is consensus here across geography and states on increasing federal resources to cities and municipalities dealing with this issue. The second is to allow for work authorizations so that the folks in here can get to work and start supporting themselves as soon as possible,” she said.
The Roosevelt Hotel has become the center of the migrant scandal in the Big Apple.
‘My name is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I’m here alongside Representative Adriano Espaillat, and we’re incredibly thrilled and excited to be here,’ the congresswoman began.
‘Close the border! Close the border! Respect the constitution AOC! I am your constituent!’ one man shouted over the congresswoman’s speech into a megaphone.
‘What we seek to do is to make sure that all the resources are necessary and that we are joining with the city and state,’ she said, as the man with the megaphone shouted: ‘Illegal immigration is not right! Respect the constitution, close the border!’
‘As you can see this is a contentious issue,’ Rep. Espalliat, D-N.Y., acknowledged. Last week Mayor Eric Adams admitted he doesn’t see a solution to the problem as he slammed the lack of help from President Joe Biden during a town hall meeting.
‘Let me tell you something, New Yorkers. Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this,’ he conceded. ‘This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.’
The former top cop grew emotional as he talked about buses of migrants arriving on a near-daily basis, with over 10,000 arriving every month. Upwards of 110,000 are littered across the metro, and Adams’ office has estimated the issue will cost New York City $12billion over three years.
The more the congresswoman spoke, the louder the crowd appeared to yell, and Ocasio-Cortez went quiet less than two minutes after she began speaking.
“Ready to wrap up?” she said to her fellow speakers.
“They’re prevented from getting jobs, they’re prevented from employment, and that is part of the strain on our public systems.”
The final point is extension of temporary protective status for Venezuelans, according to Ocasio-Cortez.
