Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Democrats react to fake picture of Sen. Rand Paul showed up to work at the Capitol barefoot wearing a white t-shirt and a bathrobe after the Senate changed the dress code to accommodate for John Fetterman.
Information reads: “Senator Rand Paul showed up to work at the Capitol barefoot wearing a red bathrobe after the Senate changed the dress code to accommodate for John Fetterman.”
Jeff Charles posted a photo of Rand Paul tonight mocking the new Senate dress code. He posed for a photo on the Capitol steps in a red housecoat and t-shirt while barefoot.
It’s an amazing photo and I hoping that it doesn’t turn out to be fake. But I’ve checked with some third-party sources and they say it’s real: “I can’t find this on Twitter an earlier than when Charles posted it, so I’m assuming that Rand Paul sent it to him.
“Either way, it’s hilarious and I’d love to see Rand Paul on the Senate floor like this to bring home the point that the new slob dress code is absurd.”
The account even reposted a tweet with the Booker post and a message that said, “The amount of people who don’t realize this is fake alarms me.”
The Senate relaxed its dress code for members on September 18, 2023, the Associated Press reported. The decision followed the return to work of Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, who has worn shorts and hoodie sweatshirts in the Capitol since treatment in a clinic for depression earlier this year.
Riding the wave of the discourse surrounding the Senate’s dress code, Booker himself took the time to explain the statement behind his audacious outfit. “These shorts are not just a piece of clothing; they represent the freedom to be oneself in an institution often characterized by conformity. Plus, they’re incredibly comfortable.”
After giving his remarks, Booker sashawed away singing Cardi B’s “Bongos.”
Sources told The Smattering that right-wing critics prompted Booker to double down on his fashion choices and wear a pink princess dress later in the day. “Don’t get it twisted. I’m revolutionizing the way we do government,” he said before snapping his fingers twice in a zig-zag motion.
The Jeff Charles, An Awful Pundit account features photos of other elected officials in outrageous outfits, such as Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz in “Cancun wear”.
