Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Reactions as Kenneth Gainwell was replying to an Eagles fan in Instagram DMs during halftime.
The 24-year-old Gainwell had two carries four -4 rushing yards, but he was productive in the passing game with five catches for 30 yads. The Eagles defeated Washington 38-31 to complete the season series sweep while improving to 7-1 on the year.
Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell somehow found a way to access his cellphone during Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.
As you can see in the screenshot below, a fan on Instagram direct messaged Gainwell and told him to “hold on to the football”. Gainwell responded during the game (presumably around 2:06 p.m. EST), telling the fan to not text him.
According to a screenshot and video shared by Instagram account “phibirdsrecap” and Crossing Broad, “phibirdsrecap” allegedly sent a direct message to Gainwell at 2:06 p.m. ET stating, “Hold on to the football you f**** bum,” referring to Gainwell’s fumble when the Eagles were in the red zone in the first quarter. According to the screenshot and video, Gainwell’s account allegedly replied back at 2:28 p.m during halftime with, “Lil boy don’t text me” when the Eagles were down 17-10.
“Phibirdsrecap” then replied back with “Get off your phone,” and the conversation ended there, according to what was shared.
With 2:05 left in the fourth quarter, Gainwell had two rushes for -4 yards to go along with five catches for 30 yards. Gainwell’s fumble caused the Eagles to begin using starting running back D’Andre Swift more in the red zone, but the Eagles have yet to have success running the ball close to the goal line.
