Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Magic Johnson new net worth is $1.2BN as he officially becomes a billionaire according to Forbes.
Johnson’s post-basketball endeavors include being a partial owner of teams in different sports such as the MLB’s Dodgers, the WNBA’s Sparks, the LAFC, who by the way are the reigning champions of the Major League Soccer, and most recently the former Laker has a part of the Washington Commanders.
O’Neal was always a dominant force under the board since his college days; however, upon his arrival on the professional hardcourt, he began to receive an onslaught of fouls from opponents who could not stop him in any other way.
That’s why he decided to gain more muscle to endure the physical play of his rivals. However, he himself admitted that he went a little overboard.
The extra weight did not seem to slow down “Shaq” in any way; in fact, he was the Most Valuable Player of his three championship series with the Lakers, even ahead of another team legend, the late Kobe Bryant.
Johnson also had an opportunity to invest in the Golden State Warriors in 2010, but rejected that opportunity due to his loyalty to the Lakers.
Magic is also a partial owner in a number of other pro sports team than the Dodgers. He watches over the WNBA’s L.A. Sparks and MLS’ LAFC, too. He recently paired up with Josh Harris to become a minority owner of the NFL’s Washington Commanders this year.
‘We all owe Magic,’ Shaquille O’Neal once said of the former basketball player’s business acumen.
‘If I could know exactly what it was, I would bottle it and give it to myself and everybody in my company.’
Magic’s been a major player in the entertainment industry, noticeably when it comes to movie theaters, fast food franchises, real estate, healthcare and life insurance.
He has an established partnership with Starbucks that sees him own more than 100 coffee shops in pre-dominantly black neighborhoods in major U.S. cities throughout the country.
Magic also has an extra minority stake in a PepsiCo bottling plant located outside of Washington D.C.
If “Shaq’s” revelation is accurate, it would mean that he weighed 90 pounds more than the officially published weight of 325 by the Lakers and the NBA.
O’Neal made his NBA debut with the Orlando Magic, weighing 285 pounds, and by his last championship with the Miami Heat after leaving the Lakers, he had returned to his optimal weight.
