Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that X community notes confirm Sega Super Game budget is actually $882M.
Taking to social media, X community notes confirm:
“The budget is also equal to approximately $882 million USD. The budget is actually for multiple games as said here.”
Games have a history of expanding and connecting various cultures and technologies. For example, recent examples include SNS and watching game videos. I think it is natural for the future of games to expand by involving new fields such as cloud games and NFTs. We are also developing “SuperGame” from the perspective of how far different games can be connected to each other.
Planning for the plan began in 2019. We shared the trends of megatrends and discussed what only SEGA can do and SEGA’s strengths. In conclusion, I am convinced that SEGA’s brand power, wide fan base around the world, and expectations from everyone have a potential that exceeds that of other companies. We will make the most of SEGA’s IP and provide classic content to users around the world. This became the answer to future growth and the basis for a five-year plan.
In fact, initiatives that could become part of “SuperGame” have already begun with titles currently in operation. For example, in terms of the game viewing that I mentioned earlier, it’s a system that allows viewers to intervene in the game. We are experimenting with various possibilities for new experiences to expand the range of players.
“SuperGame” is defined as the development of AAA (Triple A)-ranked titles developed by Sega that aim to become a huge worldwide hit in an online format. SEGA provides a variety of game content, including hardware and arcades, and is able to do this because it has a variety of technologies. We aim to develop such AAA titles that cross over SEGA’s comprehensive technologies as a “SuperGame” in our five-year plan.
