After a well played match, Bruno Fernandes, to post a picture. Immediately, David de Gea, commented as he took a dig at Roy Keane.
He wrote: “You are not the right captain.”
Despite not conceding in nearly half the games he played, it was interspersed with a series of howlers that left United fans tearing their hair out.
The Spaniard did save a penalty in the final game of the season as he stopped Aleksandar Mitrovic’s spot kick, his first penalty save at Old Trafford in nearly nine years.
After the win over Fulham, De Gea picked up his trophy and was taking photos with teammates.
“Manchester United had to improve defensively from last year because they were so bad,” Keane said on Sky Sports.
“They’re [United players] all patting De Gea on the back there…I’d move him on quickly. He wouldn’t be for me, he’s not going to get Manchester United back winning trophies, absolutely not.
“The idea that the players are patting him on the back is ridiculous, that’s his job.”
