Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that ‘KUNG FU PANDA 4’ might launch a new trilogy.

Although there’s not been an official announcement of any kind, the director of the upcoming instalment Mike Mitchell has already begun teasing that Kung Fu Panda 4 may kickstart a brand-new trilogy in the franchise.

According to Next Best Picture, it’s been seven years since we last saw Jack Black’s Po in 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3. The trailer shows Po embracing his role as the Dragon Warrior until destiny calls on him to become the Valley of Peace’s Spiritual Leader instead.

Meanwhile, the villainous chameleon sorceress Chameleon (voiced by Oscar-winner Viola Davis) threatens Po’s Staff of Wisdom which holds dangerous powers. To defeat her, Po unwillingly teams up with the quick-witted thief fox Zhen (voiced by Awkwafina).

During a talk with Next Best Picture, the Kung Fu Panda 4 director was asked if fans could expect the franchise to be heading toward a six-parter – to which the director responded rather positively.

“It’s very possible,” Mitchell said. “Like, I don’t think anyone will ever get tired of seeing Jack Black as this panda. I mean, he just is this panda.”
