French tabloids confirmed: “Voici l’auteur de l’attaque meurtrière au couteau à Mulhouse : Brahim Abdessemed, âgé de 37 ans. Sous contrôle judiciaire, il était assigné à résidence.”

A 37-year-old Algerian man carried out a knife attack at a market in Mulhouse, France, on Saturday afternoon, killing one civilian and injuring at least two others, including three municipal police officers.

The suspect, known to police and territorial intelligence, shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the assault, according to France’s National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office. READ MORE HERE

The civilian victim died after intervening, while the injured officers were attacked prior to the suspect targeting a bystander.
 
The assailant, under an OQTF (Obligation to Leave French Territory) and a 10-year judicial ban from France, was due to report for judicial supervision but refused. He was arrested and is in custody.

French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking at the Paris Agricultural Show, condemned the attack as an undeniable “Islamist terrorist act” and expressed national solidarity.
