A Central Texas woman is dead after being shot on Friday, according to the Copperas Cove Police Department. READ MORE HERE
The 31-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was shot in the 900 block of Tanner Drive around 11:48 a.m., Copperas Cove PD said in a press release.
The woman was taken to AdventHealth Central Texas by EMS personnel but died while receiving medical treatment, according to Copperas Cove police.
Witnesses spoke to law enforcement, who were able to identify and locate a suspect connected to the victim. Police reportedly found the suspect soon afterward at a nearby hotel and brought the suspect into custody.
Copperas Cove police said that the suspect’s identity, criminal charges and bond information will be released after he is arraigned.
This is an active investigation and no further details are available at this time.
