Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that CORALINE will be re-released in remastered 3D in August.
In fact, Coraline’s legacy has become so colossal over the years that horror fans and film buffs alike have long championed for a sequel or prequel, in the hopes that this ever-engaging narrative would make a much-anticipated return. And while a fair amount of concerned parents have insisted that the movie is far too scary for children and thus deemed inappropriate by some, others have argued that its storybook authenticity is exactly the sort of entertainment that kids adore.
The synopsis for Coraline reads: “A young girl walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life – only much better. But when this wondrously off-kilter, fantastical adventure turns dangerous and her counterfeit parents try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to save her family and get back home.”
The voice cast for Coraline includes Dakota Fanning as Coraline Jones, John Hodgman as Charlie Jones, Teri Hatcher as Mel Jones, Dawn French as Miriam Forcible, Jennifer Saunders as April Spink, Robert Bailey Jr. as Wybie Lovat, Carolyn Crawford as Mrs. Lovat, Ian McShane as Sergei Alexander Bobinsky, and Keith David as The Cat.
As creepy and unsettling as it might appear to some parents, there’s simply no denying the overall influence and impact that Coraline has had on moviegoers all these years — and it’s about time we witness the magic again (or for the 335th time, but either way) when the film is re-released in cinemas.
