Former Senator, Buruji Kashamu has died of COVID-19 after weeks of being on a life support machine. He passed away at aged 62 at First Cardiology Consultants in Lagos State today. 


He represented Ogun east in the eighth senate. 


According to Koikimedia, Late Senator Buruji Kashamu slipped into a coma following COVID-19 complications. 

He was said to have been on a life support machine for weeks at the hospital after slipping into a coma following coronavirus complications,” Koikimedia reported. 


The death of Senator Buruji Kashamu was officially announced by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce in his tweet. 


Senator Buruji Kashamu has become the third prominent man who has died of COVID-19 so far in Nigeria. First, it was late Mallam Abba Kyari, then Former Governor, Late Alhaji Abiola Ajimobi and now, Senator Buruji Kashamu. 





I have just lost my good friend of forever to #COVID19. Until his death, Sen. Buruji Kashamu and I were inseparable. He died today at First Cardiology Consultants, in Lagos. May his gentle soul rest in peace. I pray his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss,” Senator Ben Murray-Bruce tweeted.
