It was earlier reported that former minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan, popularly known as, Mama Taraba, had passed away in Cairo, Egypt, at the age of 61.
According to a source who wants to be kept anonymous said she passed away after suffering from knee injury, which she travelled to Egypt for treatment. Unfortunately, she couldn’t make it out alive.
“She died in Cairo, Egypt due to knee injury, she’s been suffering with the injury for months. She travelled to Egypt for treatment, but unfortunately she couldn’t make survive,” the source says.
In a trending video, which Kossyderrickent shared on Twitter, Mama Taraba’s last moment was captured. In the video, she was seen asking her granddaughter to stop joking with her and hand over her walking stick.
In the end, her granddaughter obeyed and gave her the walking stick. Mama Taraba and her daughter in the background laughed afterwards. Al-Hassan is a former Minister of Women Affairs and a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from Taraba North Senatorial District.
She was also the All Progressives Congress’ Governorship Candidate for Taraba State in the 2015 general elections.
