A yet-to-be identified paid group has called for the ban of Facebook in Nigeria as the leader of the group boldly submitted a petition to a top official at the Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja on July 8, 2021. (Read More Here).




According to the leader of the paid group, he says Facebook gave him a strike over a confessional statement he made on the social media against terrorists. 


After submitting the petition, the leader of the group went outside to meet other protesters who were seen holding placards in their hands, which were raised above their heads. 


On the placards, words such as these were seen:


1. “Facebook ban in Nigeria.”


2. “Sharing confessional statements of a terrorist is not hate speech.”


3. “Mark Zuckerberg, no one elected you to run office in Nigeria.”
