An attack outside a night spot has left a young Nigerian man dead and his family pleading for answers. Twenty-five-year-old Awwal Ladipo, died on Monday, July 26, two days after a fight in north Minneapolis, USA. (Read More Here).
According to CBSNews, police say preliminary investigation found out that Ladipo had a disagreement with another person that turned into a physical altercation in which the suspect “struck the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.”
Meanwhile, Awwal’s mum, Atinuke, described him as “Gentle, easy going, respectful, very educated and well-mannered” while expressing shock at the devastating news. “He loves to help and has brought so many of his friends home for us to help them. He was never involved in a fight. We woke up to this call of emergency for us to come to the North Memorial Hospital because my son was injured in the brain,” she added.
It is reported a video of the assault surfaced on social media. “We didn’t even break the news. The social media broke the news to everybody, his cousin in Nigeria, that’s how they found out,” Antinuke said. However, the family is hoping someone will come forward with the truth about what happened as investigations have begun.
