Taking to her Twitter page, Smith, shared a photo gotten from Letoaba, showing, a wild boar, which was captured while roaming around in Fourways, Johannesburg.

In just two years, animals have caused stirs in Fourways. Recall that on November 25, 2019, a Twitter user,  @Thandoo_Zuma, reported that she saw a cat driving a taxi in Bree Street in Fourways.

Early this year, January 24, 2021, to be precise, it was reported that a hippopotamus was seen roaming at night at around in Chartwell near the Jukskei River last month and later in the Fourways area.

After capturing the picture of the hippo, pictures of the hippopotamus being killed and its meat shared by the residents began to go viral on social media.

Fortunately, the agricultural department, debunked the rumours as it confirmed that the hippopotamus was rescued and it’s alive.

“The hippo that was spotted in Chartwell at the end of December is not missing. It has gone back to its original habitat (Hartbeespoort Dam) and this was discovered with the assistance of the technology used by Endangering Wildlife Trust (EWT). The Gauteng Agriculture Department and EWT are monitoring the movements of the hippo,” the department’s Nozipho Hlabangana said.

“Be on the lookout for these in Fourways, Johannesburg.”

The area referred to as Fourways (which is a collection of suburbs, including the traditional suburb of Fourways) is the fastest-developing commercial and residential hub in Sandton, north of Johannesburg, South Africa. The main access routes to Fourways are off the N1 at R511 William Nicol Drive, or alternatively along R564 Witkoppen Road. It is located mostly in Region E of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. It is roughly as far as one can go in the Johannesburg Metropolitan area before it dissolves into rolling hills, game farms and the capital Pretoria, 55 kilometres to the northeast. Hartebeespoort Dam and the Magaliesberg Mountains lie half an hour to the north-west. It is bordered by Bryanston to the east and south and Randburg to the west.
