Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that the privatisation of the second container terminal at the Mombasa port is ongoing and some 3,500 port employees might risk losing their jobs in the process. (Read More Here).
According to information, the Kenyan government wants to sell off the Mombasa Seaport to some individuals, who are suspected to be Chinese.
Reports say that the Coast Members of Parliament have since opposed the planned Privatization of the Mombasa port because it will deprive the residents at the coast employment opportunities.
As the news began to spread like wildfires, Kenyans rushed to social media to kick against the idea of privatising the Mombasa port.
Recall that a few days ago, Cargo Ship loaded with harmful nuclear waste got detained at Mombasa Port.
