Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that the founder of Complete Sports Newspaper, Dr.. Sunny Obazu-Ojeagbase, has passed away. (Read More Here).

In a statement released by his son, Julius, he confirmed that his father has died at the age of 71 years.

Sunny Obazu-Ojeagbase wrote:

“MY DAD IS GONE!

It’s with mixed feelings to accept this reality that I just lost my Dad.

Yes, I had two fathers, my biological father that gave birth to me and taught me the way of the Lord.

“Dr. Sunny Obazu-Ojeagbase was the second Dad that set me permanently on the business path and taught me how to partner with God in business.

Somehow, both died at the age of 71 years. What a life! (Sigh).

“Dr. Sunny Emmanuel Obazu-Ojeagbase accommodated me for 3 years (from 2005 till 2008) in his own house before he deemed it fit for me to have better accommodation when I was about to marry in October 2008 .

I ate from his dining table, slept in the room and the bed he provided. In fact, I got to Lagos because of him.

I worked closely with him from his house office for a solid 5 years. I had my own office in the same building with him before we started recruiting other staff that were working with me.

“I really don’t know anyone else that had such privilege apart from me. He taught me business. I literally transformed to Publisher (as we used to call him). Till today, I still think of what Dr. Sunny will do whenever I encounter a problem and honestly, that alone has saved me from several troubles.

In those days, Dr. Sunny and I would wake up from around 1am or 2am and work till 5am or 6am almost every day. Then, we would be back at work again by 9am. I kept wondering why a rich man would be working so hard like a young man that is still hustling to make it in life.

“I have never seen any man as hardworking as him. This alone remained the secret of his life’s success. A highly intelligent man that exuded confidence, creativity and deep business understanding any time we were having business meetings.

I have hundreds of meetings with him, he never got tired of generating ideas with passion to see them implemented.

“Till date, I have not met anyone that had such a swirl of skillful ways of handling business meetings. Just like a skillful footballer, he often delivered quality goals and set us on the right path of business.

He was the reason I remained in business till today. He taught me how not to get stranded when there is no money. Yes, I learned how to generate money from thin air from him.

Through his mentorship, I was honoured as the SuccessDigest Young Entrepreneur in 2008.

“He is the person I can call my Rich Dad (In Robert Kiyosaki’s concept)

Though, the Publisher is gone and it’s painful but we must celebrate him. He produced several sons and daughters across the nations. He was the Rich Dad to several young men and women (including the old ones) across the nation.

He was the founding and grandfather of entrepreneurship and internet marketing in Nigeria (Yes, he started that before anybody did in Nigeria apart from him being the pioneer of Sport Magazine and Newspaper in Nigeria).

“We thank God for making him walk on the soil of Nigeria. He fulfilled destiny. Many of us realised our destinies through his own.

He came, saw and conquered.

May your gentle soul rest in peace, Daddy!

Goodnight!
