Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that two National Unity Platform (NUP) members, Yakubu Kiggundu (Kawempe) and Waiswa Denis (Iganga), have died in a road accident.
According to information, they were in car headed for Omoro County County for the rally of Hon. Toolit Simon Akecha when they died in the car accident.
According to information, over 5 got injured and have been rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. Bobi Wine has paid tribute to the late Comrades.
Bobi Wine wrote:
“Yesterday, by the time we got the terrible news about the accident involving our people, we were entering Omoro County. This is the kind of reception we received. Despite being a scarcely populated district and having arrived late, we found people waiting for us at every stop!
“As we arrived in Omoro yesterday, we received terrible news of the passing of two comrades Waiswa Denis (Iganga) and Yakubu Kiggundu (Kawempe) in a car accident. May their souls rest in peace. Praying for comfort for their families and all of us who worked with them.
“I thank the people of Omoro for the love and support towards NUP and our candidate, Hon. Toolit Simon Akecha. No wonder the regime went into panic mode and the military started arresting our leaders and mobilisers throughout the night.”
Joel wrote: “As we approached Omoro for Toolit Simon’s campaigns, we learnt that one of the cars coming to join us got involved in an accident. Sadly, Yakubu Kigundu& Denis Waiswa died. Others got injuried&were rushed to hospital,we pray for their recovery.
May our departed comrades rest in peace.”
