Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that popular South African barbershop, Legends Barber, has taken legal action against The Famous Barber citing copyright infringement. (Read More Here).







According to information, Legends Barber accuses The Famous Barber of copying it’s signage and store layout, which the brand shared picture proofs to buttress claims. 



Court statement reads:


“We act for legends Barbershop and projects (Ply) ltd (hereinafter referred to as our client). 

Our client is the leading barbershop in South Africa as rated by the African Hair Awards Council and has 65 stores across the SADC region. Our client has been operating the LEGENDS BARBERSHOP brand and trademark since 2011 and it’s well known to members of the public and the barbershop and growing industry. 





“Our client is also the proprietor of all rights and the title, subsiding in its brand, get-up, design elements and look and feel of our clients’s LEGENDS BARBER branded stores and business, including at copyright subsisting in the design, competition and layout of its barbershops, cosmetic and personal care products. A depiction of some of these elements are provided… “
