Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that Getafe fans called Marcos Acuña MONO in racist chanting viral video in 68th minutes.

“We condemn the racist and xenophobic abuse suffered by Marcos Acuna and our coaching staff during Getafe v Sevilla,” wrote Sevilla on social media platform X.

Sevilla coach Quique Sanchez Flores said he was called a “gypsy” by some home fans, and that he was proud of his background but opposed it being used as abuse.

“I am proud of every pore in my veins that can breathe ‘gypsy’,” said the coach.

“It is one thing to be a gypsy or partly, and another to use it as a racist insult — I find it abhorrent.”

The coach said other Getafe fans opposed some of those insulting him.

“Some of the fans — because there are some that don’t — think they can come and say whatever they want, and that’s what’s happening in all the stadiums, whenever and however they want,” added the coach.

“There were also some Getafe fans who were against what the other fans were saying.”

Greenwood did not have a quiet game and managed four shots on goal against Sevilla although he only tested goalkeeper Orjan Nyland once. Ramos got the visitors’ noses in front in the fifth minute, turning in a corner from Marcus Acuna. The match was played in an ill-tempered atmosphere and was stopped in the second half for a few moments after Getafe fans were reportedly heard calling Argentina international Acuna a monkey. Sevilla boss Quique Sanchez Flores – who has managed Getafe on three occasions – also claimed that the Getafe fans had called him a gypsy.
