Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday, June 14, sentenced two of Abba Kyari’s co-defendants to six years imprisonment.

The convicts, Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus Ezenwane are the 6th and 7th defendants in the suit filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) against the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, and others over an alleged drug deal.

They were convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment on each of counts 5, 6 and 7, after they prayed the court for a plea bargain agreement.

However, the court, which noted that the two defendants were remorseful, held that the sentence would run concurrently, commencing from the date they were arrested by the NDLEA.
